Mary asks…muscle spasms???what is the difference between tight/sore muscles and muscle spasms???

my back muscles hurst and i used to have really bad muscle spasms in my back that required muscle relaxers.
how do i know if i am having muscle spasms or if my muscles are just tight and sore??
