Helen asks…Would I qualify to recieve Medicare benefits if I own a home?Would owning a home disqualify me to receive Medicare benefits. I am 50 years old and going through very difficult financial times and not able to afford health insurance. All I have is my home and its upside down in value with no equity.admin answers:Tella's right. If you have no equity in the home it is not really an asset. You probably did mean Medicaid. Medicare is for old people and is not income/asset
