What weight should i lift to build muscle and how much should i do it?

I'm 14.I now have a weight set up to 40 pounds. I want to build some muscle what weight would be the best for building muscle and how many reps should i do?
You should be able to use a amount of lbs that you can lift it 8-14 times without stopping.
There isn't such a thing as doing low weights and high reps to get "toned" or anything.
The ONLY way you get toned is by lowering your total body fat %.
